About the Cumberland Minor Hockey Association
Cumberland is located in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
The CMHA is one of the largest minor hockey associations in Ottawa with over 90 teams plus nearly 200 children enrolled in our Initiation Program (IP). We provide non-contact recreational hockey programs for girls and boys ages 5-20 years old.
The CMHA is the House League component of District XII of the Ottawa District Minor Hockey Association. Teams from the Novice Division up to the Juvenile Division play in the Gloucester Hockey Association (GHA). The competitive body contact component of District XII is the Cumberland Junior Grads Hockey Club.
The geographical jurisdication for District XII, which includes both CMHA and the Junior Grads, encompasses the boundaries of the former Municipality of Cumberland as follows:
It includes the communities of Avalon, Queenswood Heights, Fallingbrook North and South, Cumberland Urban Area, the Village of Cumberland, Notre Dame des Champs, the Village of Navan, the Village of Sarsfield, Carlsbad Springs and the Village of Vars. See the maps below for a graphical view of our boundaries.
Registration rules are set by Hockey Canada. They require that a player register with the association that is located in the same "geographic sub-division" i.e. District as the location of the residence of the players parent(s). Click HERE for the Hockey Canada Regulations, refer to section F.
