Notice of Cumberland Minor Hockey Association
2010 Annual General Meeting
Tuesday May 11th, 2010 - 19:00-21:00
Sir Wilfred Laurier High School Cafeteria
The Cumberland Minor Hockey Association has scheduled its' 2010 Annual General Meeting for May 11th at the Sir Wilfred Laurier Secondary School Cafeteria located at 1515 Tenth Line, Orleans, Ontario. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM and end at 9:00PM
- Reports from Executive Board members will be available at the meeting..
- Elections for Executive Board members will be held. Click HERE for more information on the positions.
Members wishing to put forward motions to amend CMHA by-laws (click HERE to download the By-Laws) must submit their motion as per the following Article:
13. ARTICLE XIII - AMENDMENTS TO THE BY-LAWS
• 13.1. The By-laws shall be subject to amendment in the following manner:
13.1.1. Members desiring to recommend amendments shall submit the proposals in writing, signed by the proponents, to any member of the House League Board of Directors at least thirty (30) days before the General Meeting .
13.1.2. After the proposed amendment(s) has been read and discussed by the Membership, the proposal(s) shall be put to a vote. Amendment(s) shall be adopted by an absolute majority of members present and voting.
The exception to the above are amendments to restructure the House League Board of Directors which require a two-thirds majority as per Article 6.1:
• .... The structure of the House League Board of Directors may be altered by a two-thirds vote of the Membership present and voting at the Annual General Meeting. |
Motions to amend CMHA Policies and Procedures cannot be amended at the Annual General Meeting (complete CMHA Policies and Procedures available by clicking HERE ) as per the following CMHA By-law:
15. ARTICLE XV - OPERATING POLICIES, RULES AND REGULATIONS The Board of Directors will develop and maintain 'Operating Policies' and 'Rules and Regulations' for the day-to-day operations of the House League. These documents are developed and/or amended from time to time on the authority of the Board of Directors. |
Members can present non-binding motions affecting Policies and Procedures which, if successful, the CMHA Board will take under advisement.
